The fact that
computers are essential tools for learning a language and for the study of linguistics
has not only been realized in Germersheim, but also at the Facility of Modern
& Medieval Languages (MML) of the University of Cambridge.
As a response to the progress in information technology, Computer Assisted
Language Learning Programmes (CALL) were established in 1997 at the MML.
Students as well as employees of the faculty can use these programmes in
order to learn a language or for Humanities Computing.
