Office of Academic Affairs
- The Office of Academic Affairs is an organizational unit of a faculty. Its task is the study-related administration of the subjects of a particular course of study.
- The Office of Academic Affairs informs you about deadlines and dates during the semester as well as special procedures including (module) examination registration and deregistration.
- The Office of Academic Affairs includes central Student Advice and Support Services, which answers general questions about your studies as well as about exam regulations regarding the B.A. and M.A. degree programs.
- Resolving technical problems with JOGU-STINe is NOT the job of the Office of Academic Affairs. The office should ONLY be contacted once all other options have been exhausted.
The following people work in an Office of Academic Affairs:
Study Manager (StM)Head of the Office of Academic Affairs
Course Manager (CM)The JOGU-STINe course manager maintains and updates the courses in JOGU-STINe. As such, he or she should be contacted when technical problems concerning the registration for modules or courses need to be resolved.
Exam Manager (EM)
The JOGU-STINe exam manager maintains and updates the exam dates in JOGU-STINe. Hence, he or she should be contacted to resolve technical problems concerning the registration for exams. He or she also manages non-standard solutions that cannot be shown in JOGU-STINe.
Since the faculty 06 has decided to establish a decentralized Office of Academic Affairs, the designated CM and EM do not sit in the Office of Academic Affairs but in the offices related to the respective course subjects. Furthermore, the faculty has decided to designate individual subject representatives to mediate between StM and CM/EM.
The subject representatives answer all your questions related to your studies and are your first port of call answer any questions related to entrance qualifications, deregistration from courses, compulsory and semi-elective modules, areas of main focus (in the master programs) as well as to the sequence of modules.
You can also contact them in cases where courses overlap.
